Pronouncing ‘ache’ is way easier than pronouncing the ‘ough’ sound. There are less words for starters and only one way to pronounce it. All you have to remember is that if the word doesn’t mean a dull continuing pain, it’s not pronounced in this way. Forget what the word looks like, all you have to remember is that it rhymes with bake, cake and fake.
